August - The highest month of PITTA Dosha
The mid late august is the period of when you accumulate PITTA of its maximum. Actually PITTA use to accumulate in your body in whole summer period but being the end of the summer and most humid period, the mid August is the highest time for PITTA accumulation in your body.
Symptoms of PITTTA imbalance
In this season you normally suffer from following health related problems:
• Gas / bloating
• Acidity
• Low immunity
• Fewer/ Sinus / Nasal problems
Don’ts to avoid PITTA consequences
• Avoid excessive workouts/sports activities:
If you are tended to accumulate PITTA, you are advised to avoid heavy sports activity/physical workouts/exercise etc., especially in mid-day hours.
Swimming is very good for you. And you may also go for early morning light exercise.
• Avoid food/ eatables which inspires PITTA such as:
Hot and sour curries.
Reduce/avoid; tea/coffee/chocolate.
Sour fruit/tomatoes/vinegar.
Minimise alcohol intake.
• Avoid Hot n Humid environment:
Avoid going places which is hot n humid. Especially do not plan your holidays at such places.
Do’s to avoid PITTA consequences
• Eat foods which are sweet, bitter and astringent in taste; grains, rice, and the sweet fruits such as peaches, pears, grapes, nectarines, very ripe kiwis, leeches and melons. Astringent and bitter foods include lentils (pulses), which have a drying effect on the mouth, spinach, asparagus, cabbage and broccoli. All six tastes shall be ideal to have with every meal, in order to provide a cross section of all the necessary nutrients to your body. Through the taste you can judge the nutrient contained in the food. And since PITTA is combination of heat and moisture, so in order to balance PITTA, you need cool, drying qualities in food and activity.
• You are advised to go for domestic treatment to reduce PITTA accumulation by preparing you food with ghee and castor oil.
• Message your head with cooling oil/ regularly splash your face with cool water.
• Protect your skin from sun.
